In 2025, she was selected for the Disney Entertainment Television Unscripted Directing Program, serving as Segment Director on ‘American Idol.’ A longtime advocate of the industry-leading production app Scriptation, she was named a Brand Ambassador in 2026.
A former ballet dancer, Dara brings a deep understanding of movement, rhythm, and visual storytelling to every production. Having lived and traveled extensively around the world, she is passionate about fostering inclusive, collaborative production environments where diverse perspectives strengthen both the creative process and the final product.
Born in New Orleans and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Dara studied dance in New York City while attending Borough of Manhattan Community College before relocating to Los Angeles, where she earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Northridge.
She is drawn to ambitious productions that push creative and technical boundaries, embracing opportunities to bring compelling stories to life in a live environment.
