George Kallis is recipient of the Jerry Goldsmith Award and the International Film Music Critics Award (IFMCA) and his compositions span major studio franchises, acclaimed independent films and global television.
Kallis most recent work includes the Nick Cassavetes film Marked Men: Rule & Shaw, starring Chase Stokes. He is widely recognized for his work on the hit Netflix romantic drama franchise The After Series (After We Fell, After Ever Happy, and After Everything). His scores for Walt Disney Pictures' fantasy trilogy The Last Warrior were both commercial and critical successes.
His diverse filmography includes the epic score for Lionsgate's Highlander: The Source and the historical drama Cliffs of Freedom, starring Christopher Plummer, which garnered him a Hollywood Music in Media nomination for both his score and the title song, "I'll Wait For You."
In television, Kallis's work contributes to the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses, HBO Max's Gossip Girl, and he was commissioned to score the opening titles for the BAFTA and Emmy-winning series Horizon (BBC) for it's 40th anniversary. He has scored over 50 independent features, including the Danny Glover-led 93 Days, (TIFF) for which he received an African Academy Movie Award nomination for best music.
His music has also been featured in trailers for blockbusters such as Black Adam, The Black Phone, and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, as well as global campaigns for Lexus, Toshiba, and McDonald's.
Originally from Cyprus, Kallis's background is a blend of Eastern and Western musical traditions.
Beyond film scoring, he is an accomplished songwriter; his track "After Our Dawn" reached No. 3 on the Billboard lyric charts, and he represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest with the Cyprus entry 'Thane Erotas'.
Kallis earned a dual degree from Berklee College of Music and a Master's degree from the Royal College of Music in London.
He is an avid tennis player and fan!
