- Born in Germany to a German father and a Polish/Chilean mother, Pia Mechler studied film at the acclaimed European Film College in Denmark. After graduation, she launched her career as an actor in German, British, and US film and TV. She was also briefly part of a 5 member band signed to Universal Music Portugal. She landed her first English role in the TV movies of Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" alongside Sean Astin and Jeremy Irons. The lead role of the British indie film "Invisible Eyes" followed. She has been living in working in the USA where she also ventured out into writing, producing and directing. Her first feature as a director, "Everything is Wonderful' starring Tonia Sotiropoulou, premiered at the Thessaloniki Film Festival and was a finalist at the Chelsea Film Festival. Her short "Black Hole" had an extensive festival run in 2024/25, with a premier at the Chelsea Film Festival and a nomination for best Comedy short at the Burbank International Film Festival among others. Her acting credits include "The American Sausage Standoff" alongside Ewen Bremner and Antony Starr and "The Upside" alongside Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston. She also portrayed Eleanor Bourg as a series regular on two seasons of the hit TV show "Devils" together with Patrick Dempsey, Alessandro Borghi, Malachi Kirby and Li Jun Li.
