Sam Baron is a filmmaker based in London. He recently wrapped production on his debut feature Circles, which he co-wrote, produced and stars in alongside Alli Brown, Ed Helms, Pamela Adlon and Christine Ko. Previously, he won the Academy’s Nicholl Fellowship for his screenplay The Science of Love. He has developed original television projects with the BBC, Sky and Netflix, and has worked as a writer on shows including Chloe (BBC/Amazon), Lockwood & Co (Netflix) and The Undertow (Netflix). His feature work includes co-writing projects for directors Alice Seabright, Scott Z. Burns and James Marsh. As a director, Sam created an award-winning trilogy of short films (The Orgy, Tall Dark and Handsome and Big Ears) starring BAFTA nominee Amit Shah, which screened at top-tier festivals worldwide. His short films have amassed over 12 million views online, and have been featured by Vimeo Staff Picks, Short of the Week and Indiewire. He got his start as a YouTube creator in the mid-2000s, and has also worked in development at Ealing Studios, as a script reader for the BBC, and in production on series including The Hour and Mr Selfridge.
