- Has 3 children. Ashley & Ramsey from his first wife and Alexander from his second.
- Took up acting professionally relatively late in life at 39 when redundancy from a 19 year career in the aviation industry gave him the perfect opportunity to live his dream.
- Worked as a Truck Driver to fund the early stages of his acting career.
- Former member of the Scottish Youth Theatre.
