- Mari Asato was born on March 14, 1976 in Okinawa, Japan. She is a writer and director, known for All But Divorced (2021), The Chasing World 4 (2012) and Bilocation (2013).
- Protégée of Masters: She began her career in 1999 as a photography apprentice under Kiyoshi Kurosawa (the director of Cure and Pulse). She also served as an assistant director for Hiroshi Takahashi, who wrote the original Ring.
