While studying theatre in London as a college student, Genai saw Anthony Hopkins in "King Lear", Jeremy Irons in "Richard II", Alan Rickman in "Les Liaisons Dangereuse", Jack Lemmon in "A Long Day's Journey Into the Night", and Faye Dunaway in "Circe and Bravo". The performances so motivated a young Genai that she returned to The University of New Hampshire for her final semester and performed a one woman show to much acclaim.

Tried unsuccessfully for years to produce the screenplay "Park Avenue" written by Genai's good friend Andrzej Krakowski. Although the project never came to fruition, even with seasoned producer Hillard Elkins behind the scenes, Genai's respect for "Hilly" grew exponentially when she found out he had marched from "Selma to Montgomery" with Dr. Martin Luther King. Shelved for now, Genai still credits Hollywood agent Emanuel Nunez for swiftly returning all her calls no matter where he was in the world.

Friends with actress Jayne Atkinson who reminds Genai of a younger version of the great Helen Mirren.

On September 11, 2001, she and three sailing friends from The New York Yacht Club docked in Newport, Rhode Island just hours before the twin towers fell. Ironically, the name of their yacht was called "Recovery Room".

Was scientist Craig Venter's first date after his long marriage. The two met at a party thrown by Katie Couric on The Queen Mary. His "Wired Magazine" cover was out so Genai read the article on his plane during the short flight to Nantucket for dinner.

Vacationed with actor William Hurt's entourage and former CIA operatives in Washington, D.C. while Hurt was preparing to film the CIA spy thriller "The Good Shepherd". William later consulted Genai prior to writing the forward for Marshall Mason's book "Creating Life On Stage".

Modeled for numerous "artist portrait renderings" because of her exceptional skin. Genai's face was subsequently used in a series of book covers for Harlequin romance novels.

Genai credits late film director, Jonathan Demme, for nurturing her love of documentary films when she was a student in his Rarely Seen Cinema class at the Jacob Burns Film Center in the nineties. Ten years later Jonathan sent word that he was having writer's block on a documentary project about Haitian human rights activist, Jean Dominique, set to be released the following year. Genai revised much of Jonathan's existing script for 'The Agronomist' and the film received favorable reviews although it made little money. Genai strongly disliked the film's title and felt it would have made much more money had the title been changed.
