Harry Gold was born on February 26, 1907 in Dublin, Ireland. He died on November 13, 2005 in London, England, UK.

When he was 70 he applied to join the Marylebone Cricket Club and was told there was a 20 year waiting list. "That's all right," he said. "I don't mind waiting." He did not mind the delay as he lived to be 98.

He used to write 20 arrangements a month and conduct a band.
