The Lolo Jose on her very popular 1980 folk song "Lolo Jose" (lit. Grandpa Jose) was her grandfather Jose Avelino, the third President of the Senate of the Philippines (1946-1949). Avelino was also the great grandfather of
Paulo Avelino. The song is included on her 1980 debut self-titled album that fused Western-style pop/rock with Filipino native instruments.
