Studied acting at the acclaimed Actors Studio (MFA) New York City. Attended Central Union High. He graduated from San Diego State University and majored in Political Science and Sociology. He followed his Father's lead and played Professional baseball in Mexico. His Father Jesse was aggressively scouted by the California Angel's Baseball Organization but opted to attend Cal Poly Pomona instead. His Mother, Aida, is a District Representative for a California Democratic Senator. His Step-Father Alan, was in Boy Scouts with Actor David Leisure. Auditioned for Academy Award winners, Martin Landau, Mark Rydell and Ellen Burstyn. His first time in front of a camera was when he was picked out of a group by Director Kevin J.Dobson for a background scene in the 1993 TV show "Acapulco Heat". He was vacationing with friends and he loved it so much he extended his stay to work on the show.

Is from the same town "Cher" was born. El Centro Ca.
His 2nd Cousins are Director/ Actor, Michael and Mark Polish(The Polish Brothers). He and Michale met while independently presenting their films in their birth place, El Centro Ca. This was the first time meeting and only by a chance conversation and a phone call with Amar's Mother, was the connection made.
Shared the same Basic Technique Teacher at The Actors Studio Drama School as Bradley Cooper, The Late Elizabeth Kemp. Cooper hired Kemp for multiple movies including, "A Star Is Born," which he dedicated the making of the film to in the end credits.
