Philippe André is a French screenwriter and director. After studying film in Paris, he began working for the Museum of Modern Art and the Centre Pompidou, before turning his hand to award-winning music videos and adverts.
His science-fiction short film "The Rope" won the Grand Jury Prize and Best Fiction Short Film at the 1 Reel Film Festival - Seattle International Film Festival.
"Delicate Gravity", which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, received the Grand Prize at the Palm Springs International ShortFest, the Grand Prize and Best Foreign Film at the Nevada City Film Festival, and the Audience Award at the Bermuda International Film Festival. It was shortlisted for the Oscars in 2014 and was streamed on Amazon Prime US.
In 2016, his short film "Everything’s Perfect" was screened at MoMA in New York, the Tate Modern and the British Film Institute in London.
In 2017, he directed "Just Another Day" for the charity Age UK in collaboration with Channel 4.
In 2018, he wrote and directed "Laura_JSD90" for the Feminist Collective Against Rape. He won the Cristal Award, the London International Award and the Eurobest Award for Best Screenplay, Best Casting and Best Performance.
Philippe is developing feature film and television series projects.
