Biography

Mark's a devout and proud Mormon. As a defensive guard in High School football, his team were the C.I.F. champions (Edison Chargers - 1970). He worked each high school summer at a YMCA Summer Camp as a councilor. He worked on a 'Dude' ranch one summer, gaining valuable training of riding horses. He has spent 7 years (1972 to 1979) in the U.S. Army, and although he asked to, never got the opportunity to serve in Vietnam. Mark graduated from the elite NCO Academy at Camp Jackson, S. Korea (1977). He loves the U.S.A., has seen all 50 states and traveled through 49 (only visiting Anchorage, of Alaska) and all the bottom provinces of Canada. Mark was trained in EOD and strategic microwave radio communications in Army. He also served with AT&T until the breakup (1984), installing PBXs, KTSs, etc. Among the other communication jobs, he was the lead technician/supervisor for Link-Tel. Mark also worked as a civilian communications tech on the island of Roi-Namur in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (1991) for a year for General Dynamics, where he wore a lot of hats, doing everything from fibreoptics, launch relays for NASA, and TACAN support, to motion alarms, cable TV and draining seawater out of manholes.

Mark has a small video/recording business on the side (MarKee Studio Productions). In his free time, SCUBA Diving, Mountain Biking, MIDI, Videogaming and helping striving actors also keep him busy.

As his middle-age crisis approached, he chose to fulfill a lifelong haunting dream to pursue acting, and so thus started his current career. After many acting and drama classes (and his share of hustling for 10 years) he's beginning to see success, mostly as principles in commercials, but has also acted in roles on television and the big screen. Mark loves dancing and has studied ballroom dancing for 2 years. He does 255 push-ups each day, 6 days a week (resting on Sunday)!

Although he has always wanted a wife and 6 or 8 children, he has never married and now lives alone. Well, alone except for his feline family of five. Mark sometimes also takes in the occasional (human) traveler for brief periods.

He has collected over 48,000 Lego blocks which are sorted and store in hundreds of 'Tupperware' containers. Mark looks forward to the day he can have a 'Lego' room in his home dedicated solely to Lego building projects. He also has over 600 console video games, 256 of which are for the original NIntendo system. He moderates a video-gamers' discussion board (Jamazon).

Mark had a 2 week-end shoot scheduled as the lead role in a 'Sublime' music video (Any Way You Want). When the producer, Kevin McVey, found out that during the week, that the lead singer died from an overdose, he rescheduled the 2nd weekend shoot out an extra week, but shot it anyway, helicopter, purple tux, and all.

He has worked on over 230 films, over 150 TV shows, and dozens of commercials and music videos as 'background talent' otherwise known as an 'extra'.

He studied acting two and a half years with the renowned actor and teacher Carey Scott.

I'd trade all my travels and all my toys for a good wife and some girls and boys.

Being an actor isn't about awards, honors, recognition, number of films, or even a SAG card. When you can look in the mirror, and only you and your mirror image are in the room, and you can look them in the eye and say "I'm an actor!" and not smirk, or giggle or grin, and you believe it, then and only then, are you an actor.
