Hot Chocolate

Biography

Hot Chocolate

Mini bio

  • Hot Chocolate is known for Rat Race (2001), Dude, Where's My Car? (2000) and American Made (2017).

Trivia

  • The group had at least one hit every year between 1970 and 1984, making them the only group in the UK to have a hit for 15 consecutive years. They played at Charles and Diana's pre-wedding reception at Buckingham Palace.
  • They sent their own reggae version of "Give Peace a Chance" to John Lennon. A week later, they received a call saying that Lennon liked it and wanted to sign the band to the Apple record label. They were originally named by a staffer at the record company as The Hot Chocolate Band, which was later shortened.
  • The original members of the band were Errol Brown, Tony Connor, Larry Ferguson, Harvey Hinsley, Patrick Olive, and Tony Wilson.
  • They were the first predominantly black British group to achieve major success in the US.
