- Scott Aaron Crary is a director and producer whose work spans film, TV, music videos, and advertising. His prize-winning debut feature, Kill Your Idols (2004), was made by Crary for $300 when he was 26 years old. That film launched an expansive career producing documentary film work that frequently examines various counterculture and musical subculture movements, including: William S. Burroughs: A Man Within (2010), Queercore: How To Punk A Revolution (2017) and Fire Music (2021).
His internationally recognized work has screened at festivals such as the Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW, the Sundance Film Festival, and the New York Film Festival, among others, and has been acquired by Showtime, PBS, Netflix, Arte, Criterion, Palm Pictures, and Oscilloscope Laboratories. Additionally, he has collaborated with talents including Philip Seymour Hoffman, John Waters, Martin Scorsese, Iggy Pop, America Ferrera, U2, and Cat Power, and worked on campaigns for Coca-Cola, Nokia, Ray-Ban, Seagram's Gin and Mazda.
