  • Phil Wayne, a native Californian born in Burbank, completed in 2003, two terms as governor of the Costume Design & Supervision Peer Group on the Board of Governors at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Wayne has been a member of ATAS since 1978. Working exclusively at network television for 23 years of a more than 30 year career, Wayne has been no stranger to all aspects of television costuming. His past work ranges from variety series and sitcoms such as Friday's, Dolly and Charlie & Co. to talk shows, daytime drama, children's shows and award shows including the Oscar and Emmy telecasts. He received an Emmy nomination for the Los Angeles-based Early A.M., a spin-off of AM Los Angeles which he also supervised. Wayne Supervised the costumes for: The 15th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Television Night at the Hollywood Bowl 1 & 2. Currently, he is responsible for the growth of the Hall of Fame Plaza at The Academy as the Chair of the Sculpture Committee and is working as a Key Costumer on the award winning Arrested Development. Most recently Wayne received a Prime Time Emmy Nomination for his costuming talents as Costume Supervisor on The History Channel's "Conquest of America".
