Mini bio

  • Lorenzo Caprile Trucchi is a prestigious Spanish dressmaker and theater costume designer. After graduating in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Florence, he completed his fashion education at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and the International Fashion Polytechnic in Florence. In 1993, driven by the media success of his first bridal gown for Carla Royo-Villanova, he opened his own atelier in Madrid's Salamanca neighborhood, specializing in classic couture and custom-made formal gowns. His career achieved immense public prominence by dressing members of the Spanish Royal Family, most notably Infanta Cristina's wedding dress in 1997 and the iconic red gala gown worn by Queen Letizia at the Danish royal wedding in 2004. In addition to dressing major celebrities for the red carpet and creating Margot Robbie's wedding dress for the film The Wolf of Wall Street, Caprile has a solid background in the performing arts as a costume designer for the National Classical Theater Company and international productions such as the Berlin Opera Ballet. Recognized with honors such as the Grand Cross of the Order of the Second of May and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, his popularity with the general public was cemented in 2018 when he joined the television show Maestros de la costura as a judge.
