  • Christopher Barnett is a London-based composer with an established body of work in documentary, narrative film, and television. His scores have earned nominations from the International Documentary Association and BAFTA, opened international festivals, and contributed to shifts in national policy. Key credits include Getting Away with Murder(s) (2021) (The Guardian’s best films of 2021), The Marbles (2025) (Central Scotland Documentary Festival 2025), Doza shtastie (2019) (number one at the Bulgarian box office), Yohanna (2024) (International Film Festival Rotterdam; multiple Asian film awards), Modern British Slavery (2017) (Channel 4), and Speer Goes to Hollywood (2020) (IDA Best Score nomination). He made score contributions to the BAFTA-nominated Tristram Shandy (2005) and has collaborated across four films with director David Wilkinson.

    His work spans continents, recording with orchestras in London, Budapest, and Bulgaria, and draws from jazz, classical, and electronic traditions. In 2024 he released Profundum on Besant Hall Records, the first of his solo albums.
