Swedish politician. He is the former leader of the Swedish
conservative, Moderate Party.
He was elected in 1999, succeeding Carl Bildt, but resigned only four
years later, following poor results in the Swedish parliamentary
election, 2002. He was succeeded by Fredrik Reinfeldt.
