Mario Perez is a Los Angeles based actor, director and stunt coordinator. With more than 300 studio credits to his name, he is industry known for bringing innovative creativity and consummate professionalism to the set, along with a human touch in a very mechanical age. In 2019 he was a recipient of the SAG Award for "Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture" for the Marvel feature Black Panther. As assistant and additional stunt coordinator to Eddie Perez on the hit TV series Shameless, he was officially recognized by the Television Academy as a contributor to the Emmy that Eddie Perez won for "Outstanding Stunt Coordination in a Comedy Series" in 2020. Mario wrote, directed and produced the short film "The Tiger in the White" and the film was an official selection of the Los Angeles International Film Festival in 2018, where it was shown at the Regal Cinemas in Los Angeles. In 2021 Mario Perez directed one of the first live stream multimedia theater experiences via zoom and Facebook live, incorporating complex technical camerawork in an uncut theatrical performance of Christopher Fry's medieval drama "The Lady's Not for Burning." The same year he was also cast as a lead actor in the Scottish based Limnal Theatre world premiere of "On The Enterprise" written and directed by Joel Mason.
Beyond his noted film and television credits on IMDB, Mario has stunt coordinated and performed in numerous music videos and national commercials and was a contributing director and mentor in the Young Playwright's Festival, an organization dedicated to providing guidance and resources to promising young writers and staging their scripts with professional industry actors and directors at the helm. Mario's three decades of theater experience and two decades in film came to bear perfectly in this arena.
Mario teaches acting, Shakespeare, and stunt/swordplay skills privately in addition to his other industry contributions.
