Biography

Candice Day began her career in the film industry with a small appearance as an extra in Richard Norton's Under the Gun (1995). Fresh out of high school, she enrolled in film school, majoring in cinematography. There, she formed a strong creative partnership with fellow student Nathan Hill, and the two collaborated on numerous short films. After graduation, Candice gained professional experience working on the crews of major productions such as Ghost Rider (2007) starring Nicolas Cage and Charlotte's Web (2006) with Julia Roberts. Her acting breakthrough came unexpectedly when she auditioned for the role of Kat in the feature film Fox Force (2009), stepping in after Kestie Morassi became unavailable. She impressed at the audition and won the part. The film premiered to a packed audience at ACMI and quickly became a domestic success, selling out on physical media. Candice's rising popularity was highlighted when fans recognized her in a JB Hi-Fi store in Melbourne. Despite her success in front of the camera, Candice's passion remained behind it. In 2011, she returned to cinematography, working as Director of Photography on two Nathan Hill films - Jasper (2011) and Seance (2011). In 2014, she both appeared in and documented Apocalypse Canoe (2014). Today, Candice has stepped away from full-time filmmaking, choosing to take on projects only when the right opportunity comes along.
