Florina Petcu was born in Romania and moved to New York where she lived for over 16 years.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Psychology and Creative Movement Therapy from The City University of New York - Interdisciplinary and Unique Studies, and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University. She is an active member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and American Psychological Association (APA).
She's has been an actress with theater, TV and film experience who can claim a scene opposite Denzel Washington in 2006's Inside Man.
Florina is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with years of experience in the mental health field in various settings. She is also a Certified Child and Adolescent, Complex Trauma Professional and holds certification for OCD from IOCDF. She is Diplomate and Cognitive Behavioral Therapist awarded by the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies.
As of the Fall of 2023, she teaches General Psychology, Introduction to Biopsychology, Abnormal Psychology, and Cultural Psychology at Foothill College in California
Florina is an accomplished amateur Muay Thai fighter who has represented the United States in world championship competition. She also coached at the American Kickboxing Academy where she helps fighters get ready for national and international competitions in Muay Thai and MMA. She's been practicing Muay Thai for over 20 years and I hold a blue belt in Brazilian JiuJitsu.
