Biography

Eddie Amoo was born on May 4, 1944 in Liverpool, Merseyside, England, UK. He was a composer, known for Clockers (1995), The Bitch (1979) and Roll Bounce (2005). He was married to Sylvia Joel. He died on February 23, 2018 in Australia.

He started out leading the Merseybeat a capella group The Chants in the 1960s. After they broke up, he joined his younger brother Chris in The Real Thing.

He was a singer and songwriter with the 1970s Liverpool soul quartet The Real Thing. They were the first all-black British group to have a UK number-one single, "You To Me Are Everything". They were all of Ghanaian heritage.
