Hans Ostrom is a screenwriter, novelist, poet, songwriter, and scholar. With Michael Kerr, he has written "NAPA," based on his novel Three To Get Ready. "NAPA" stars Rose McGowan and is set to be released in 2012. Ostrom has acted in the film Cliche, directed by Ben Shelton. Ostrom's other books include Honoring Juanita (novel, 2010), A Langston Hughes Encyclopedia, The Greenwood Encyclopedia of African American Literature (edited with J. David Macey), The Coast Starlight: Collected Poems 1976-2006, Metro: Journeys in Writing Creatively (with Kate Haake and Wendy Bishop), and Lives and Moments: An Introduction to Short Fiction. Ostrom is a member of the PEN/America Center and the National Book Critics Circle. He earned a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in English from the University of California. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Uppsala University, Sweden. Ostrom studied screen-writing with Tom Rickman at the Squaw Valley Writers Conference.
