Jay B. Johnson works as a Director, Writer, Director of Photography, Gaffer, Lighting Technician and College Professor.
He wrote, directed and edited his feature film "Will Work For Food" (2006). It was screened at the Cleveland International Film Festival, New York Independent Video and Film Festival and won Best Feature at the Los Angeles DV Film Festival. It was also a feature article in DV Magazine, "Making Will Work For Food. How an $8000 film looked like a million dollars."
Later, intrigued by a local news story, he produced and directed his controversial short film "The Handyman" (2010), based on convicted Cleveland serial Killer Anthony Sowell.
Jay has a BFA in Film and Art from Ohio University.
Presently, he teaches in the Department of Cinema and Media at Oberlin College & Conservatory.
He shoots creative projects when possible.
