Daughter of dance team Frank Veloz & Yolanda Casazza, who were a famous self-taught American ballroom dance team, husband and wife, who became stars in the 1930s and 1940s, and were among the highest paid dance acts during that era.

Her eldest brother, Nick, died at 27 from cancer. A few years later in 1972 her other brother, Tony, committed suicide at the age of 28.

Left acting in 1975 to become a real estate agent.
