Biography

Terry McDonell is known for Miami Vice (1984), Night Trap (1992) and China Beach (1988).

He is the Managing Editor of Sports Illustrated.

He has worked at various magazines in his career such as Rolling Stone, US Weekly, Sports Afield, Esquire, Outside and Men's Journal.

Graduate of University of California at Berkeley.

His son Nick wrote a best-selling novel (Twelve), which was published in 2002.

He was friends with the late Hunter S. Thompson.
