Johnnie Burn is an Oscar winning British sound designer, re-recording mixer, and supervising sound editor known for his work on auteur-driven films that explore sound as an emotional and narrative force. He is best known for his collaborations with directors such as Jonathan Glazer (Under the Skin, The Zone of Interest), Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, The Favourite, Poor Things, Bugonia), and Jordan Peele (Nope).

Burn won the Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Sound for The Zone of Interest (2023), which was widely praised for its unsettling and immersive use of off-screen sound. His approach often emphasizes naturalistic recordings, minimalism, and psychological tension, and he frequently begins designing sound from the script stage.
