Biography

Sema Ergenekon was born on April 9, 1977 in Ankara, Turkey. She is a writer and producer, known for Karadayi (2012), Family Secrets (2021) and Zemheri (2020). She has been married to Ugur Aslan since September 24, 2005. They have three children.

Graduated from the Ankara University (Department of Dramatic Writing).

In 1998, she met Ugur Aslan while both were studying at the Ankara University, and they started dating shortly afterwards. On September 25, 2005, they got married after 7 years together.

Mother, with husband Ugur Aslan, of two daughters, Asya Aslan (b. October 26, 2005) and Alya Aslan (b. January 2009), and one son, Sems Aslan (b. 2011).

In 2014, Ergenekon discovered a lump in her right breast while taking a bath and went to the hospital for the examination. In April 2014, she was diagnosed with breast cancer with micrometastasis, one week after her 37th birthday. By November 2014, she underwent a course of treatment, which included six rounds of chemotherapy, during which she lost her hair. During her cancer battle, Ergenekon continued to work as a screenwriter for Karadayi (2012) and Black Money Love (2014). Following the treatment, she went into remission and is cancer free now.
