Biography

Leigh Haggerwood is a London-based composer, producer and director. Having composed music from an early age, he formed the band Scarlet Division with his school friend Jamie Oliver before beginning his professional music career in the early 1990s. After touring as a keyboard player and vocalist, he settled in London to focus on songwriting and composing music for film, television and advertising.

Over the following decade, Leigh wrote and produced original music for stage and screen, with credits spanning television, commercials and international productions. In 2010, he turned his attention to his award-winning Christmas project, The Florin Street Band, which has since evolved into a stage musical.

Alongside his continuing work as a songwriter and producer, Leigh made his directorial debut in 2025 with the music video for Wonderful Things. The film combines live action with stop-motion animation created by Roos Mattaar, an animator who regularly collaborates with Aardman Animations, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Leigh's creative career as a filmmaker.
