Biography

  • Cervantes was born in The Bronx, New York on August 9th 1963 and was raised in Puerto Rico until the age of 13. When school was out, his family always sent him back to New York for every Summer vacation. From the years of elementary school, performing and acting in every theatrical event was a way for him to get attention. But the acting bug really bit Mr. Reck at the age of nine, while watching James Cagney portraying Lon Chaney Sr. in "Man of A Thousand Faces". By the age of thirteen, Cervantes had already read a vast amount of famous American plays and already performed in a few of them. He then became what's known as a "Theater Brat". In the mid 80's, he studied Advanced Scene Study at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and that became a really defining artistic moment for him. But after being immerse in the theater world since childhood and being involved in over 50 theatrical performances, Cervantes leaped into the film scene in 2005 in the award winning short film Test Day, directed by David Fabelo. Around the same time, Acclaim Talent agency from Austin, Texas began representing him artistically for over 15 years. He's a longtime fan of Tennessee Williams, Christopher Durang, David Ives, Milos Forman, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Montgomery Clift, Orson Welles and Marlon Brando. He fluently speaks English and Spanish and supported himself throughout his life by working as a very talented Chef all over the states. Animal rights activism also became one of his passions along with serious environmental issues. Author: Anonymous
