Biography

Ben Kopit is known for The Libertine, Victoria Woodhull and Wannabe (2005).

Is the son of accomplished playwright, screenwriter and television writer Arthur Kopit.

Did his undergraduate studies at Columbia University, where he studied music and playwriting. This was followed by earning his M.F.A. in screenwriting from UCLA. In between college, Kopit worked in the opera world in New York City.

Ben Kopit broke into Hollywood as a professional writer with his script The Libertine, which caught the attention of managers and agents around town. He signed with William Morris Endeavor Entertainment and manager Jesse Silver of Mindframe Films & Management in the summer of 2015. In August 2015, an executive at Warner Bros. read his script on a plane and immediately contacted the writer and made a deal, buying the script for 'mid-six figures'. The deal also includes a blind script commitment for another project at WB.

He lives in North Hollywood, California.
