  • Michael Berry is a director, writer, and actor working across film, television, and theater. He made his feature directing debut with the border drama Frontera, which he co-wrote and directed, starring Ed Harris, Michael Peña, Eva Longoria, Amy Madigan, and Aden Young.

    He subsequently wrote and directed the original musical feature Stuck, adapted from the stage production he previously directed in New York. The film stars Giancarlo Esposito, Amy Madigan, Ashanti, Omar Chaparro, Arden Cho, and Gerard Canonico.

    Berry has directed episodic television, including three episodes of NBC's Chicago Med. While his work has focused primarily on directing and writing for film, television and stage, he continues to work as an actor and has appeared recently in both film and television. His work in development includes several feature projects and a limited television series.

    Before moving into directing and filmmaking, Berry spent many years as a New York stage actor, appearing on Broadway in productions including Next to Normal and Les Misérables. His films have received Awards and recognition at festivals throughout the United States.

    Berry studied at the School of Performing and Visual Arts at United States International University and at HB Studio in New York, where he studied acting with Uta Hagen and Austin Pendleton.
