Biography

John Avlon was born in 1973 in the USA. He is a writer, known for Thomas Jefferson (2025), Washington (2020) and Lincoln: Divided We Stand (2021). He has been married to Margaret Hoover since November 7, 2009. They have two children.

Heroes are an endangered species in American politics. Profiles in courage are in short supply. And honor seems like a word found only in the dictionary. And that's why he earned entry into the pantheon of America's greatest senators, possessing a moral authority that exceeded many presidents, including the current occupant of the White House. His example will inspire when more powerful men fade from memory.
