Anitra Sutradhar

Anitra Sutradhar is an Esraj player based in Kolkata and Mumbai, trained under the guidance of renowned Esraj maestro Shubhayu Sen Majumdar. Rooted in Hindustani classical music, he explores the expressive possibilities of the Esraj across contemporary and cinematic music. As a session musician, Anitra has recorded Esraj for acclaimed composers and musicians including Meghdeep Bose, Anurag Saikia and George Joseph contributing the instrument’s distinctive tonal character to their musical productions.
