Biography

Emilio Ramos has worked in the field of animation for 25 years. In 2006, he graduated from the animation masters degree at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. His first short film, Fog, was selected to be part of 54 film and animation festivals, and it received awards in 12 of them. In 2007, he worked as animation director in the operas The Rhinegold and The Valkyrie, for the La Fura dels Baus theatre company.

Since 2010 he has directed more than 20 animated short films and audiovisual museographic installations. In 2016 he co-directed Nos Faltan, which won best short documentary at the Festival de Cine de Guanajuato, honorary mention at Zinebi 59 festival and it was part of the official selection at the animation festivals of Annecy and Ottawa.

From 2016 to 2019 he was a member of the National System of Art Creators of FONCA, where he developed Hanta, his first feature film. In 2022 he was selected with his first feature film Hanta in the Annecy Residency 2022. He is a member of the National System of Art Creators (FONCA), which support is helping develop Seeds, a short documentary about violence crisis in Mexico.
