Kanani is an award-winning writer, actress, and filmmaker. Her feature screenplays have been a part of festivals including, Vail Screenplay Contest, Cinequest Writing Competition, La Femme Film Festival, and Santa Barbara International Screenplay Competition. Her short Films have won awards for Best Original Screenplay as well as acting awards at festivals throughout the country. As an actress, Kanani has appeared in Guest-Star and Co-Starring roles for networks including CBS and TNT. She has also appeared on stage in live productions of Next to Normal, The Merchant of Venice, Fiddler on the Roof, and Hair, to name a few.
