Douglas Folsom

A former pastor and actor, Douglas Folsom is an award-winning filmmaker, novelist, and screenwriter. He writes inspirational family dramas with a touch of romance and magical realism. When growing up, he experienced life-saving miracles and that is why he became a pastor. He enjoyed giving hope to people when preaching, but he found that people are most moved by stories, so he became a screenwriter. Douglas also knows what it's like to have regrets in life. He tends to write about characters who need redemption, second chances, and hope.

Because his dad was the first general manager of AMTRAK and a keen New York Yankees fan, Douglas developed a great interest in trains and baseball. His screenplays have been optioned and placed in major contests, including Nicholl (Top 10%) and PAGE (Semi-Finalist). He's written two highly reviewed inspirational novels, awarded 5 stars by Readers' Favorite.

Douglas graduated from New York University. He has received script reviews from A-list screenwriters. He taught screenwriting at Stevenson University in Maryland. He is a former Board member of Harvard Square Scriptwriters Group. Douglas lives with his Filipina wife in Lexington, Massachusetts, and he is a proud stay-at-home-dad to his nine-year-old daughter. He has not succeeded to make her a Yankees' fan ... yet.
