While working at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Maddalena Fagandini composed music for an interval signal. This was expanded as a 1962 commercial disc on the Parlophone label called "Time Beat" co-written with Parlophone's George Martin but credited to 'Ray Cathode'. "Waltz in Orbit" by the same duo, was the B-side.
