Deontay Wilson is a Chicago-based writer, director, actor, producer, and cinematographer. He studied at Western Illinois University, class of 2003, and completed classical actor training at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco in 2006.
In 2018, Wilson founded CodeSwitchers Productions. His professional experience has included work with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the Magic Theatre, American Conservatory Theater, the Goodman Theatre, the Public Theater, Comedy Central, The Onion, and PBS.
In 2023, he contributed writing and assistant photography to the PBS special Mental Health Care in America. He later wrote, directed, photographed, and edited the feature documentary Paradise Lost, which received Best Documentary at the Crown Point International Film Festival in 2022.
In 2026, Wilson was developing the historical drama The Interceder as writer, director, and producer.
