Dominga Martin began her career as a journalist who's written for publications VIBE, Essence Magazine and blackfilm.com. In 2001, Dominga wrote and directed her first short film; bum and Yellow (2005), which she is writer/director. Yellow premiered at festivals across the country, including BET. Yellow is the winner of the "Best Short Narrative" category at the Hip Hop Odyssey International Film Festival (2007) and also the winner of the "Best American Short Film" during the Cape Verdean American Film Festival in DC (2014). Dominga produced and directed Fiche d"identity (2008) a documentary following the first President of Senegal's, Leopold Sedhar Senghor's granddaughter and her friends through the American immigration system while in the entertainment industry, which was invited to screen at the United Nations to open the 11th annual African American Women in Cinema Festival in New York City. Dominga's video production "Forever" (The Floacist & Musiq Soulchild) aired on MTV Hive, VH-1, BET and surpassed the 1 million viewer mark on You Tube. Forever premiered on VIBE.com to over 1 Million viewers. Chosen as a participating filmmaker in the CinemadaMare 2014, largest international film festival for young filmmakers, Ms. Martin starts her cinematic journey in Rome traveling across 10 Italian regions, ending at the Venice Film Festival while shooting her docu-series "Diary of a Reel Girl". At the top of 2015, Dominga served as Director/Writer for Walmart's national commercial on black beauty starring Toccara Jones of America's Nest Top Model, which aired during the 46th Annual NAACP Image Awards.
