For some forty years, French filmmaker Jacqueline Margueritte dedicated her entire career as a director to educational television. One of the first female director in this field, she produced over a hundred programs, TV movies and shorts, covering all areas of knowledge and culture. Many of her works received awards or critical acclaim. Deeply committed to the professional fight for the preservation of modern and vibrant television for the education system, and for women's work in the media, Jacqueline Margueritte also championed the right of creators and directors in the French public audiovisual education sector to join the main labor unions in the field.
