- We soon realized that while it was true that some people in the country were racially prejudiced, this was not the general rule. Many members of the country's wealthiest class, mostly white, had lunch with us, associated with us, hung out with us, made business with us, in short, they accepted us as we were. Realizing this, we decided to reinforce our personal and professional growth and become examples for our peers to emulate.
