She switched to television two years after working at a popular Chicago radio station where she hosted programs on WCIU-TV 26 and then WSNS-TV 44, where she worked as a talk show host.

Began her broadcasting career at WBEE radio in Harvey, Illinois in 1966. She started out as a DJ at the jazz station before moving to popular station that had a mixture of jazz and some progressive rock.
