Thibaud François is a French composer, music producer, and sound designer who creates original scores for film, animation, documentary, and video games. Known for his cinematic sensitivity and collaborative approach, he works closely with directors, creators, and storytellers to shape music that supports the narrative while bringing its own emotional identity.
Initially trained as a guitarist, he developed an empirical approach to music creation in the early 2010s as a self-taught artist shaped by sampling, electronic machines, sound exploration, and the physical experience of live performance within the electronic music scene. The same year, he was named a laureate of the RFI Radio France Instrumental Competition for two documentary compositions, an honor that led to an official ceremony at the France Médias Monde headquarters in Paris.
In 2026, he received the Best Emerging Composer award at the Apulia Soundtrack Awards in Italy. The annual ceremony celebrates outstanding contributions to film and television music, as well as artists who actively contribute to the evolution and international recognition of music for the screen. The award was presented by renowned figures from the world of cinema and film music, including Bruno Coulais, Cyril Morin, Jean-Michel Bernard, Luis Ivars, and Hollywood veterans Mark Ulano and Patrushkha Mierzwa.
Driven by a strong interest in storytelling, he explores how music can reveal what the image cannot, focusing on the invisible tensions between characters, situations, and emotions. His compositions sometimes act as a counterpoint to the image, bringing additional meaning, complexity, and emotional depth to the narrative while remaining in dialogue with the story.
