Ohno originally wanted to resign and pursue other career. However Johnny Kitagawa asked him to help out first with a song and pack up for a trip to Hawaii, which turns out to be where the press conference announcing the formation of Arashi.

Ohno becomes the leader of Arashi because he unwillingly wins janken (rock-paper-scissor) with his another band mate, Sakurai Sho.

He choreographs most of his solo performances and some of their (Arashi) songs such as "Carnival Night Part 2", "Love Situation", "Tokei Jikake no Umbrella".

In 2008, he held an art exhibition called Freestyle - showing his drawings and own artwork, and original figurines.
