- David is a London-based filmmaker working across documentary, fiction and hybrid genres. His practice involves working with non-actors and real locations, using improvisational methods, to create more authentic and informed filmic experiences. By working co-creatively with communities, these methods challenge the often bureaucratic, hierarchical nature of conventional filmmaking, transforming it into a socially-rooted, collaborative process.
His previous films have attracted funding from organisations such as the BFI, Al Jazeera's Witness, BBC, and the Wellcome Trust and played at festivals like Palm Springs, Krakow, London International Doc Fest, Jakarta, Big Sky, Jakarta, Fajr, AM Docs, La Salina, CYIFF, and Utah. His fiction work has also been nominated for the Jury award and Best International film at festivals like Palm Springs and won best film at Cyprus International Film Festival.
