Biography

Toby Burge began his career in film and television in 2004, steadily working his way up from Production Assistant to Assistant Director - with a four-year detour into stunt work - before moving into directing.

He made his debut as a 1st Assistant Director on Season 2 of Insecure in 2017 and went on to complete multiple seasons of Insecure and Black-ish, among other acclaimed series.

Toby transitioned to directing in 2021 with the Black-ish episode "Sneakers by the Dozen" (Season 8), followed by Grown-ish episodes "Addiction" (Season 5) and "Family Feud" (Season 6).
