He is the younger brother of recording artist and record reproducer Athan Maroulis. He also has an older sister, Anastasia, who works in the field of education.

He graduated from the Boston Conservatory in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. At Boston Conservatory, he specialized in musical theater, studying acting and vocal performance.

He has gotten a record deal for a solo album, and is also going to be on the a Queen tribute album called Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen, singing "Bohemian Rhapsody". (June 2005)
