Alan Tomlinson was born on November 22, 1947 in Newcastle, England, UK. He was a producer and writer, known for Collision Over the Amazon (2007), Nixon's the One: The '68 Election (2010) and Creatures of the Lagoon (2012). He was married to Francesca de Onis. He died on November 26, 2016 in Miami, Florida, USA.

Longtime reporter, foreign correspondent and producer for National Public Radio until the 1990s when he started working in television, primarily in the production of documentaries.
