Biography

Dan Kinsella is an American Actor based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Hartford, CT, the second oldest of 7 kids, Dan started performing when getting his older brothers friend's to laugh so he could avoid getting beat up. He attended Central Connecticut State University where he received a BA Graphic Design with a minor in Painting while entertaining fellow art students between classes, doing impressions of various art professors. After college Dan worked as a graphic designer and a mapper, and started moonlighting as a comedian before moving to New York City to pursue stand up. His home was the Original Improvisation and he performed at all of the NYC comedy clubs including The Comic Strip, Catch a Rising Star, and Stand Up NY. He also began studying the Meisner Technique and scene study with renowned acting coach JoAnna Beckson. After a dozen years in New York, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue film and television work.

Dan has performed on stages from coast to coast as an actor, comedian, and musician, along with appearances in film, television, and commercials. On television he can be seen in How I Met Your Father, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Terms of Engagement, and the Netflix mini series Griselda, among others. His film credits include The Dandies, Cha Zhen, and the Adam McKay film, Vice. Dan's stage appearances include several plays in NYC and Los Angeles along with countless variety, sketch, and improv shows. The dozen years he spent in NYC also involved writing and performing his character inspired one man show, I'm Not Sayin', I'm Just Sayin', traveling the country as a stand up comedian, and playing harmonica with bands onstage and in the studio. He continues to act, coach actors, and play music.
